This song and video gives me the same happiness that i experience when i listen to disco music.
Watch the beautiful woman in the middle. She is LOVING EVERY MINUTE.
It truly would have been amazing to have lived in this era.
Watch the entire thing - the dance break is unbearable.
If you don't know what original swagger is, go to 4:20...

Someone's Missing
I love when songs have surprises.
a surprise is a moment or an element in a song that gives you happiness even if you don't feel like smiling - but most of the time, you will anyways because you just can't contain all the goodness that arises within you.
... these surprise moments make me forget the world around me
-- and make me turn into a dancing fool.
because
i'm too busy completely zoned out to the song.
i close my eyes and it feels like the sun is inside of me.
this song has one of those "surprise" moments:
it's best to listen to the entire song so you don't spoil the surprise.
this post is dedicate to Flash.

Wuthering Heights
Have you ever read a book in any English class that you absolutely DREADED reading, and then after you finished it, realized that you actually really enjoyed it?
This happened to me when i read Wuthering Heights in my grade twelve English class. It can be quite boring because of the old style language that it is written in, but the story itself is wonderful. Here is one of my favourite quotes from the novel written by Emily Bronte:
This happened to me when i read Wuthering Heights in my grade twelve English class. It can be quite boring because of the old style language that it is written in, but the story itself is wonderful. Here is one of my favourite quotes from the novel written by Emily Bronte:
My great miseries in this world have been Heathcliff's miseries, and I have watched and felt each from the beginning; my great thought in living is himself.
If all else perished, and he remained, I should continue to be; and, if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the Universe would turn to a mighty stranger.
I should not seem a part of it. My love for Linton is like the foliage in the woods. Time will change it, I'm well aware, as winter changes the trees -
my love for Heathcliff resembles the eternal rock beneath - a source of little visible delight, but necessary.
He's always, always in my mind - not as a pleasure, any more than i am always a pleasure to myself,
but as my own being.
Love has been defined in MILLIONS of ways and I really enjoy the approach Emily Bronte took here. She talks about two kinds of love, and i'm going to go ahead and make up my own names for these two different kinds of love.
There is lust-love and love-love.
LUST-LOVE can be found with many things, at many times during your life.
LOVE-LOVE can only be found once.
Emily Bronte describes this love-love into words that leave me breathless - for stones are solid and circular, representing eternity. Love-love lasts forever. Love-Love makes you feel more alive as a human being more than anything else ever has in your past and ever will.
I LOVE LOVE-LOVE, DON'T YOU!?

Music III: i remember...
Damien Rice is in my top 5 favourite artists because he is able to bring more emotion out of me than any other musician. I suppose it's how honest he is throughout his music and they way he sings with such conviction that convinces me into believing that there is someone out there that feels pain the same way i do.
His soul is his music and his music is as raw as an uncooked piece of meat
and in the heat of his boiled emotions in his performance and his willingness to be naked in front of his audience = lights the match within me and i find myself in the same boiled state as him.
This connection, i feel, that i have with him...this constant boiled state of emotion...seems to cook this "raw piece of meat", this "soul" of mine. Nearly every one of his songs possesses the feeling of what it would be like to throw yourself in a sizzling skillet of hot oil.
The beauty with him is:

he's willing to throw himself in...
and in front of the whole world.

I Am From...
One of my greatest wishes is to turn back time and relive my life all again. One of the closest times that i came close to succeeding in this was in my last year of high school, when i enrolled in this course that required me to assist one of my favourite English teachers during his period one grade 9 English class.
It was a wonderful experience because i got a second look at the type of person that i used to be. I got to see how time really can change someone, and best of all, i got to re-learn the lessons that i still remembered word-for-word from the teacher that i looked up to most. But this time around, i felt like i was the one being looked up to too.
The students were assigned to write a poem entitled: "I Am From..." that i specifically remembered doing when i was their age. I decided to partake in the activity and as i read mine aloud, every one of their vulnerable little eyeballs turned to me - and watched - and listened to someone whom they perhaps wanted to be..
and in turn, to someone who wanted to be them...

Music II: rabbit in your headlights
The only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won't let go of life, your memories, your attachments.
They burn them all away. But they're not punishing you. They're freeing your soul.
If you're frightened of dying and you're holding on...
You'll see devils tearing your life away.
But...
If you've made your peace...
Then the devils are really angels
Freeing you from the earth.....
- Jacob's Ladder
...these words are quoted in this song. one of my all time favourite music videos. if you want your mind to be blown away, wait until the end. enjoy ;)

****NOTE: read the comments on this video. i completely agree with those people. this video was banned from MTV for its "violent imagery" and yet.....sex, drugs and alcohol are a motifs throughout almost all music videos of popular music today. this is a beautiful thing.

She Said: "I Know What It's Like To Be Dead..."
“i know what it is to be sad....and you’re making me feel like i’ve never been born.”
So i possibly had the longest dream of my life last night. More like a nightmare actually. There are only a few dreams that i remember so clearly and with such detail....this was one of them....
